A very attractive and high quality French 18th century Louis XV period Walnut commode. The two drawer commode is raised by elegant cabriole legs with carved mottled edges. The mottled edge leads to the scalloped shaped pierced frieze with a richly carved central reserve with two flowers within two scrolls and outer floral carved branches. Above are the two bombee shaped drawers with the original central bronze keyhole escutcheons and handles decorated with scrolled foliate designs. Each drawer is framed within a quarter round molding and a central crossbar separating the two drawers. The sides of the commode are elegantly decorated by attractive curved mottled recessed panels. The top shelf is finished with a bull nose edge. Wonderful and rich patina throughout. — Read Less
