The desk is raised by slender cabriole legs with fine wrap around foliate ormolu sabots with striking chutes leading up each leg to superb richly chased foliate corner mounts in a beautiful satin and burnished finish. The scalloped frieze displays three faux drawers at the front and the back each displaying finely detailed foliate ormolu keyhole escutcheons with the front displaying a charming pullout with pierced foliate ormolu pulls and retaining its original gold tooled leather writing surface.
