An exceptional and beautifully shaped French 18th century Louis XV period Walnut commode Bordelaise. The four drawer chest is raised by elegant cabriole legs with block and scrolled feet with a finely carved fillet which extends along the most decorative scalloped shaped frieze with a unique pointed designs and central scrolled movement. The sides display a remarkable curved design with fine carved recessed mottled reserves flanking the drawers which each display a graceful and wonderfully executed bombee shape with lovely pierced bronze pulls and keyhole escutcheons with a fine mottled fillet at the border. The sides each display two distinctive recessed panels also displaying a lovely most decorative curvaceous shape.
