An exquisite French 19th century Belle Epoque Period Louis XVI st. red patinated Bronze and Rouge Griotte marble urn, attributed to Auguste Moreau. This most charming Bronze urn is raised by a circular mottled edge Rouge Griotte marble base. Above are three charming cherubs draped in flowing fabrics and displaying wonderful expressions on their faces while attempting to carry the baluster shaped urn.
Auguste Moreau (1834-1917), son of artist Jean-Baptist Moreau, Auguste was a renowned 19th century Parisian sculptor. Moreau attended l’École des Beaux Arts in Paris, and debuted in 1861 exhibiting often at the Exposition Universelle in France. — Read Less
