An exquisite French 19th century Transitional st. tulipwood, exotic wood, ebony, ormolu and Sarrancolin Opera marble cabinet. The high quality cabinet is raised by handsome lightly curved legs with foliate wrap around ormolu sabots and delicate corner mounts. The single door displays a stunning inlaid diamond shaped parquetry design centered by a masterfully inlaid marquetry of a charming basket with flowers in exotic wood. Framing the beautiful door is a most impressive ebony band with fine ormolu fillets and richly chased intricately detailed berried laurel branches tied at the base and lovely swaging garlands above. The door opens to reveal one shelf and one drawer. Each side displays the same elegant diamond shaped parquetry design. Above is the original Sarrancolin Opera marble with a mottled border.
