A spectacular late 17th-century, early 18th-century Sicilian giltwood and polychrome mirror. The unusually shaped mirror with all original gilt and polychrome finish has a wonderful bottom central crest amidst various ‘C’ and ‘S’ scrolls. The scalloped shaped frame has a charming winged cherub on each side over polychrome styled clouds. The cherubs are below the top crown with a central shell like designed reserve. Retaining period mirror plates and all original gilding.
