A stunning French mid 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu clock, by Bardon, Montpellier. The clock has two love birds on the left looking over to a patinated bronze cupid, standing proudly with his bow. The enameled dial is raised on a heavily chased base with garlands and a central reserve, raised on five feet. Above the dial is the flame of prosperity wrapped in a wreath of flowers. The clock has a stamp on the movement for having won a 'Grand Honor' award in 1855. The bronze flame was done by Japy Freres in Paris.
